CHRISTINA BERGER
Christina Berger studied with Raf Simons and Veronique Branquinho at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where she received the Adlmüller Grant in 2006.
“I design fashion for contemporary heroines who are born sexy, intelligent, sensitive and with a good sense of humour.” Wonder Woman is the basic role model behind her designs. Berger reflects in her pieces on various clichés and female societal stereotypes as well as on the often superficial construction of femininity, deliberately exaggerating certain features to provoke irony. She draws here on role models such as Heidi, Geierwally, Wonder Woman and others, using stark contrasts to point up the push and pull between tradition and modernism, between taboos and social norms.
